About Time
This was a musical/dance/drama (directed by my sister Dora Basham) which I wrote and performed in 1991, the year of my mother's death. It explores the nature of mother/daughter relationships, together with the many faceted concepts of 'time'. My daughter Suzette Rocca was both choreographer and lead dancer, partnered by Julian J. Thomas. The music featured my son John Rocca on percussion and Mark Blackford on live guitar. John also engineered and mixed the final CD. My son Danny designed and made the scenery. I was both singer and narrator. The result of countless recorded interviews with mothers and daughters, it toured the North of England (funded by Northern Arts), and was shown at the Cockpit Theatre (funded by Westminster City Council).
